"Cycling Psychology: Common Themes and Clinical Concerns"

McCannThis presentation will discuss the most common psychological issues faced by cyclists, including clinical issues most commonly seen at the USOC with both endurance and “high-speed” athletes.  After an overview of the issues, the talk will focus on “first contact” and the initial interview, as well as psychological issues to monitor over longer term relationships.

 

"Dr. McCann is Senior Sports Psychologist with the US Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs, CO. He has been with the USOC for over 20 years. He has traveled with ten US Olympic Teams as a sports psychologist, working with athletes, teams and coaches in almost every Olympic sport.In an earlier life, Sean raced on road, mountain, and track bikes."
